Task 3.2: Intelligent Turbocharger
This task aims to investigate the potential of advanced turbocharging options. Systems with variable flow areas will be investigated such as variable geometry compressors and turbines. Turbocharger assist technologies such as power take in / take out and air injection will also be investigated. Prototypes of compliant turbochargers will be developed and tested both on test cells and by integration into an experimental engine.
