DLR is organised as a chartered non-profit Organisation. It has more than 4,500 employees and eight locations in Germany. The Institute of Atmospheric Physics has strong experience in the characterisation of ultrafine particles emitted from aircraft engines and in the development of sophisticated measurement methods for ultrafine particles. DLR IPA is a key European representative in international working groups which focus on the development and harmonisation of particle measurement methods applicable to exhaust aerosol measurements.
