Task 4.1: Combined Cycle
The task focuses on the development of the 'hot combustion engine', i.e. of an engine where the heat flow to the cooling media is minimized by means of appropriate design and / or tuning measures. A turbo-compound system will also be incorporated into the overall design in order to utilize excess exhaust energy at high loads and to confront the problem of air / fuel ratio mismatch at low loads. Prototype components will be designed, manufactured and tested in order to validate the suitability and reliability of the chosen solutions.
